Faith over Fear

On Sunday 16th November, we were part of a a two week circuit teaching plan where all local methodist churches were invited to look at "Faith over Fear".

We live in troubled times with increasing signs of division and discrimination. The sermon focused on rising intolerance and anxiety and the strengths of community while understanding the benefits of living together, in love.

And of course how we can be guided by Jesus' teaching and example.

On Sunday 23rd November, we continued our discussions and were challenged to think of the opposite of "fear".

The suggestion was that could be "community" and we were given these helpful words for our conversations as a people of faith:-

• "I believe everyone is our neighbour."
• "My faith teaches me that love doesn't stop at borders."
• "I'd rather build community than walls."

As always the challenge is putting our faith into action.......without fear.
