150th church anniversary: Rooted
We plan to explore the history of Methodism in a 6 week course in May and in our open day on 6th June. It's an exciting story but you can get a good taster here.
Meanwhile, it's safe to say that in Killamarsh we've always recognised that God's love is available for all and have been a community-based, justice-seeking church and that loves a good hymn! 1703 John Wesley born Epworth, Lincolnshire, in
1728 He was ordained an Anglican minister
1738 His “spiritual awakening”

1775 Non-conformists mentioned as present in Killamarsh.
1876 United Free Methodist Church opened on Kirkcroft lane.
1876 Land acquired by Primitive Methodists on Sheffield Rd and construction started .
1960s Discussions start to join the two village chapels with evening services rotated across the two sites.
1976 The 2 chapels unite at Sheffield Rd.
1988 - Additional activities required and extension and the official "stone laying" was performed by Sister Phyllis Thorne.
1989 New sanctuary extension opened
